Welcome to my page dedicated to the long distance radio hobby, especially to AMDX, FMDX and free radio listening. Other topics are genealogy and experimental gardening at 62.5 degrees north. I was born in Central Finland in late 1980’s and have made a comeback here, after living for few years in Southern Finland, Tuscany and Budapest. Main QTH locator: KP22RL

Besides of the radio activity I have other collection hobbies too. I have more than 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs) of coins from various countries. In the childhood I was interested in stamps and their symbols representing distant exotic countries, which has fed interest in DXing. Since then the long distance radio hobby has been my main interest, but recently I have reactivated the stamp collecting too.

The radio hobby has supported perfectly the language studies, which I continued on academic level in the University of Turku (Italian, Latin, Ancient Greek, Estonian, Hungarian). I have been working in various societies, accommodation field, radio and telephone museum, translator, chauffeur etc.

As a translator, I have been working also for Iveco, so besides of a hobby, Italian cars have brought me bread to the table. Owning and driving them can be described as a life style, and an incurable disease. Nevertheless, I fully agree with Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson, who says: “You can’t be a true petrolhead until you’ve owned an Alfa Romeo”.

Although I love to drive, I prefer to bike short distances. Living in a suburban area allows enjoying of many other outside activities too.

As I am interested in foreign cultures, I love to travel every now and then, so far mostly in Europe. Some travel stories, or at least pictures, will be published here.
